Be Strong Carry On
Supporting Richard "Pete" Peterson
and His Battle With Brain Cancer
April 3rd, 1975 Richard "Pete" Peterson was born in Lehi, Utah. As soon as he could walk and grip he surrounded himself with sports. Growing up Pete lived to throw, catch, shoot, pass, swing and tackle anything he could get his hands on. Pete was always up for any sport anytime, especially if it involved a pigskin.
After High School his love for playing football took him to Ricks College in Rexburg, Idaho. It was here in 1997 where his first love, football, would be trumped. He met and fell in love with his soon to be wife Angi in this small town.
Angi and Pete were married in July of 2000. Pete continued his education and playing football at the University of Utah. Pete has always loved interacting with and entertaining children. While at the university he always made time to take his two football loving nephews to camps, games and the locker room where they could meet their football heroes face to face.
Pete and Angi had a fairly difficult time having children of their own. They lost their first to a series of complications 6 months into pregnancy. But finally in 2004 their beautiful daughter Brynli was born followed by their wonderful son Drake in 2007.
Pete's excitement for life has always been contagious. He loved to make people laugh. Whether it was through a joke, story, teasing or impersonating he would, without fail, get a smile out of you.
We greatly miss Pete's energy, vibrant smile and laugh. We are all grateful and feel incredibly blessed to know this family. Our prayers and support are with Pete and his family. We're grateful for Pete's influence and know we'll all smile and laugh together again.
